Food and beverage establishments act as places of invaluable importance: these are precious spaces that contribute to a bustlilng community. The idea behind this project is to capture the heart behind Seattle’s innovative tastemakers.

PHOTO REFERENCE GUIDELINES:  ◦Hannah is willing to meet with you and take reference photos while following guidelines of social distancing ◦Portrait candidate can also provide photo ◦If portrait candidate will use photo from photographer, then the photographer must grant access and permissions for the photo to be used for painting reference ◦Portrait candidate may also submit their own photo to be used as reference for painting

GUIDELINES FOR TAKING YOUR OWN REFERENCE PHOTO: ◦Vertical or Square orientation preferred. ◦Photo should feature decent lighting (natural light is preferred; take photo in the daytime.) ◦ Reference photo does not need to be professional or fancy; a phone selfie will work just fine. ◦Avoid steep camera angles, and shoot with camera at same horizontal plane as face (see fig. 1 below) ◦Look directly at the camera or choose a focal point in the distance. ◦Portrait can be straight on or feature slightly turned head. (see fig. 2 below) ◦Center your head in the photo;  If using phone for photo, use grid guidelines to center your face (see fig. 3 below) ◦Most importantly, send in a photo of yourself that you LIKE (if you don’t like the photo, you won’t like the painting of it!)
